This video tells a fragment of the story of Tala, a transgender Syrian woman and refugee who was killed in Beirut on May 13, 2024. Tala fled Syria after repeated arrests and violations linked to her gender identity, seeking safety in Lebanon—only to face a brutal and compounded hate crime. Her murder, and the violations committed against her body afterward, are not isolated acts of violence, but part of a broader pattern of systemic neglect, transphobia, and hostility toward LGBTQ+ refugees.
