Maram (she/her) participated with us in the International Transgender Day of Visibility by sharing a voice message about the reality she, as a transgender person, is experiencing.Maram talked about the importance of respecting the pronouns chosen by individuals and despite all the challenges, she is determined to continue fighting for her full rights in the face of any attempts to erase her identity.Maram: As transgender individuals, the most impactful thing on us is bullying. In school, there was a lot of bullying.It can also happen within the family, where there might be abuse, physical violence. The society as well.We hope that society accepts us, and we hope that people who encounter us speak to us using our preferred pronouns, and not judge us based on our appearance but rather on what we want.It is true that we live a life filled with bullying and negativity, but we accept ourselves.We want society to accept us because we do not harm anyone. We are strong individuals, and our will is strong, and we will remain as we are.
